300 – The Ancient Battle of Thermopylae

Possibly the most epic and anticipated movie of the 2007 is also the most simply named, 300. The story of three hundred Spartans going the distance against a 1,000,000 man Persian army is nothing but inspiring (anyone remember the Alamo? I sure don’t). You can expect total warfare, million dollar special effects, an amazing soundtrack, breath-taking cinematography, and the best 2 hour history lesson money can buy; what is there not to see?

Coming from the director of Dawn of the Dead, Zack Snyder, and the same story telling as Sin City, writer Frank Miller, this movie has little for me to doubt. With Transformers, Spiderman 3, a Third Shrek, and Pirates of the Caribbean, 300 looks to be an addition to the already full roster of high budget movies. I can’t wait!!!

…did Spartans really walk around in nothing but speedos and capes back then? haha, pretty funny, but other than that the movie looks really good.

    300…

Esta es una peli que no me pienso perder. Vale, a lo mejor el rigor histórico va en detrimento de las escenas espectaculares y los efectos especiales. Pero aún así, parece una buena superproducción “de aventuras”, que narra la Batalla …

Next on my Frank Miller movie list: Sin City 2. I just love his inkings, it drives me nuts especially in 300.

Oh Spartans!!! They were and still my favorite since attending High School Greek History class. They have the courage, bravery, determination, faith, all of Spartan ways. AMAZING! Good one Andre. Cinemas here I go.

The trailer looks quite good! I know the Spartans should be wearing armor but speedos , capes and a full helm make them look even tougher!

[...] I’m sure everyone is excited about 300 opening this Friday, but here’s a little exclusive from Cinemax to get you even more revved up! This amazing fight scene is filmed in Sin City style and accented with Matrix slow motion effects to produce one of the most kick ass moments in movie history. Enjoy the blood, because I sure did. 1 Comment [...]
