Until The Impossible Project figures out how to revive the production of Polaroid instant film, we’re going to have to find alternatives for our Polaroid fix.

Fuji Instax Film

Fujifilm is now the prime producer of instant film with Polaroid out of the market. Fujufilm instax (also called Fujufilm Cheki in Japan) cameras use “instax mini” film that comes in a handy cartridge. Instax offers stunning instant pictures that you can fit into a purse, wallet or mini photo frame.

Fujifilm instax mini 7
Lightweight and compact, the stylish instax mini 7 goes anywhere. Operation is easy — simply check the LED exposure indicator and press the shutter, a beautiful credit card-size instant color photo is ready in minutes.

Fujifilm instax mini 55
The instax mini 55 adjusts shutter speed incrementally, so you get good pictures even in low light. The ingenious self-timer let you take two shots with a single touch of the shutter button. The close-up lens allows you shoot as right up to 30 cm.

Fujifilm instax 200
With its rounded shape, easy-to-hold side grip, and fingertip controllable composite control panel, the instax 200 offers vivid, high-quality prints almost instantly. Its automatically-adjusting flash, high-resolution retracting lens and big clear viewfinder add up to unsurpassed performance.

If analog isn’t your thing, TOMY and Polaroid both offer digital instant cameras use ZINK. ZINK stands for Zero Ink – an amazing new way to print in full color without the need for ink cartridges or ribbons.

I didn’t even know Polaroid ditched the instant film biz. I use digital camera’s all the time now. It’s just more cost effective to be able to shoot as much as you’d like and delete what you don’t want. I guess there’s still some fun in getting photos instantly though.

ya i love digital camera’s for their functions. but a printer on a camera is pretty neat. just wondering if they need new ink cartridges, cause that would be annoying.
