MacBook Pro

Apple’s MacBook Pro line was long overdue for an overhaul, and this morning Apple finally delivered an entirely new MacBook Pro:

The powerful new 15-inch MacBook Pro at only 0.95-inches thin and weighing just 5.5 pounds offers ultimate performance and extensive expansion features in a remarkably portable design. Starting at $1,999, the MacBook Pro uses the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors available, running up to 2.8 GHz, and a new graphics architecture that allows users to switch between the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics processor for better battery life and the powerful NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT discrete graphics processor for higher performance. The new MacBook Pro is available in two models: a 2.4 GHz model with a 250GB 5400 rpm hard drive and a 2.53 GHz model with a 320GB 5400 rpm hard drive.

Along with the release of the MacBook Pro, is an all new 13-inch MacBook, and 24-inch LED Cinema Display.

[+] Likes: 4x faster graphics card, buttonless multi-touch trackpad, thinner

[-] Dislikes: Only glossy displays, no Firewire 400 ports, losing the old Macbook Pro keyboard (I like it so much better!).

I really like the glossy displays! :)

It looks like there is a firewire 800 port. Isn’t that backwards compatible with firewire 400? Sorry, I’m not too sure with all the technical stuff.

This is, by far, the best update to notebooks Apple has done since adopting Intel chipsets.

When you guys mean glossy, you mean the glass display, shows Apples’ marketing is working. :P

I want to a Mac Notebook with a Laser Projector installed on the other side of flat panel display so I can broadcast the movie I’m watching on any wall or building.
