If there was ever room for a device that fits in between smartphones and laptops, it’s the Apple iPad. The Apple iPad sports full multi-touch functionality, 16-64GB flash storage, has a 10-hour battery life and one full month of standby time. It’s .5 inches thick and it weighs a mere 1.5 pounds, with a 9.7 inch IPS display that looks quite sharp.

The lowest-priced version of the Apple iPad will cost $500, well below the $800-$1,000 price point that pundits had predicted; the lowest-priced 3g-capable machine will be $629. The top priced device, a 64-gigabyte version equipped with a 3g capability, will be $829.
