One of my favorite spots in Tokyo is Akihabara. It’s simply heaven on earth for any guy that loves girls, video games and gadgets… and what guy doesn’t?

Ramen in a can. Brilliant!

Tons of video game arcades like Taito Station and Club Sega. I actually went into Club Sega just to show the Japanese my crazy Street Fighter skills. They didn’t know what hit em… HADOUKEN.

Your classic maid cafes of course…

But what utterly wierded me out was the so called Bandage Girls. These so called girls wear fake eye patches and pretend they are injured, so that perverted old men can “save” them. What the?!?! Only in Akihabara I tell ya!!!
That’s kind of sick in the head!
Lost in translation! Toronto arcades are like outnumbered by 10:1 in Japan, crazy, I wonder if they had SF4 there yet . :)
Man I was expecting a weird part in this article and I was right. Only in akihabara….
Oh a maid cafe…. me wanna go….
I gotta hit that place up when I study abroad..hopefully next fall. lol, bandage girls. Speaking of Street Fighter I need to hurry up and buy an arcade stick for Street Fighter IV.
I wanna cop the Street Fighter 4 Tourney Edition made by MadCatz, its going to a wallet breaker. I can’t find a decent stick that I can settle with.
Are any of you on Xbox Live?
That’s hella freaky…. I just got the heebie jeebies.
Unfortunately I don’t have one, though I’ve been playing on GGPO emu, experiencing online play across GGPO makes my window act up, tried it with Third Strike not with Hyper Fighting. Hyper Fighting all the way, Tiger!
It was more weird than freaky when I saw it in person. Especially with the number of old guys and huge cameras wanting to get pictures with them. They probably thought I was just as perverted as them with my cam. :p
Oh man, there is nothing like this in central Europe. We have only a special places where are about 50 computers and you can find there only counter-strike, wow, warcraft, red alert, some EA games and that’s all. No Sega, no classic video games, NO STREET FIGHTER.
…oh man, it is 21st century, isn’t it?…
btw. Terry, how do you know they pretended their injury???
I added a pic where you can see her putting on the fake eye patch.
I’m actually one of those super cool PS3 owners, haha. Yeah, I think I’m gonna go with the MadCatz SF IV Tournament Edition, too. Definitely a wallet breaker, though.
Ok Terry. I agree it is really weird! :D
Hey you don’t have to be old…. I’m probably as old as those girls and if I go taking pics I might still be seen as perverted as the old guys.
sf4 madcats tourney edi is 150.. that is crazy.
on the side note.. sega needs to get better games.
@David:
Which arcades do you play at? I only visit Lovegety at Commerce Gate.
It kinda sucks that Toronto’s only MAID cafe closed down, I think it was due to their ill tasting food.
As for the bandage girls… odd concept, do they get paid?
Terry, you’re ADVERTISING CANON in your photo! And you shoot with NIKON! hahah, just messing
I only visited Lovegety a few times, I wanna drop by there to play some SF4. So I’ve read from a source that its the only arcade shop in Canada to have SF4. As for the madcatz, I’m stepping down from that, its a bit much of a wallet breaker and I don’t see myself playing SF too much to make good use use of it really. If any of you guys do end up getting one, tell us how it good it is. :P
[...] Akihabara “Bandage Girls” are just [...]
lol…why is this funny to me…bandage girls…haha…she looks like she belongs either at an anime convention or…a weird pirate show…
