Canon Powershot TX1 – First HD Elph Camera

Powershot TX1

I’ve always found it a pain to carry a camera and a camcorder when I’m traveling abroad. Canon’s new uber-geek Powershot TX1 is going to take care of that issue. At $500, the Canon Powershot TX1 is a hybrid device that not only takes 7.1 megapixel images, but 30 fps high definition 720p widescreen videos as well!

Canon didn’t skimp on any features. The TX1 is outfitted with a 10x optical zoom lens, image stablization, a DIGIC III image processor, 115,000-pixel LCD, and ISO capabilities from 80 to 1600.

All this wonderfulness is packed into a beautifully small and familiar ELPH-sized package.

I’ve been waiting for canon to release something like this so I could replace my canon sd300.

I think I prefer the Sony Cybershot series of cameras better. In my opinion, I think Sony has better design, appearances

AllaN – I’ve owned quite a few cybershots in the past. Although Sony makes great cameras with beautiful designs… Canon’s optics on their Powershot line just blow away anything Sony has to offer.

    Look Ma! No Sony!

That’s a pretty high tech Canon package, would be great on trips or on the go, kinda chubby though on the design.

Hybrids are now popular. The price seems fair enough. It’s kinda look like a mini projector though. I don’t know how to use CANON because I’m a Sony person.
