If you’re wondering who Danny Choo is, he’s the crazy storm trooper on YouTube (over 1 million views) that dances at various places in Tokyo to the song “Let’s Groove Tonight.”
Danny also has his own website dannychoo.com, where he talks about his life and work in Japan. It’s a site I visit every so often to see what weird Japanese pop culture phenomenon Danny has discovered. This morning however, was a completely different story. I checked in and saw that Danny was featured on CNN. My jaw just dropped. My jaw dropped again when I learned that his dad is none other than luxury stiletto shoe designer Jimmy Choo.
Now most sons would just live off their mega wealth fathers, but Danny chose a different path. He pursued his dream in Tokyo without daddy’s help, and that just rocks.
Congrats on the CNN feature Danny, and keep up the incredible work!

A few years ago, I discovered the Gundam section to his site, and I never realized he danced as a storm trooper for living.

He doesn’t dance as a storm trooper for a living. It’s just one of his hobbies in Tokyo.

I’ve been following him for a while too. It’s great how he’s been able to make a name for himself.
