The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 ($399) is available today on Dell’s website as a pre-order. This netbook sits right between the Dell Mini 9 for those that feel it’s 9-inch screen is too small and the Dell Mini 12 for those that find it’s 12-inch screen is too large. So many choices, isn’t it great?
The Mini 10 is powered with an Intel Atom Z520 (1.33GHz/533MHz FSB/512K Cache) and comes with a 10.1-inch 16:9 display, HDMI port, 1GB RAM and 160GB HDD.
I digging the edge-to-edge display and keyboard compared to the Dell Mini 9, but it sucks that because of the graphics card used it’s not Mac OS X hackable like the Mini 9 is. Also I’m not liking that it tops out at 1GB of RAM.
a very nice netbook there. a huge point is the HDMI port (i think it is the only netbook with one)
after doing my own research i came to the samsung nc-10 as the winner for me (although they are releasing their new one soon). it is more expensive [$500] but has the the 1.6 atom, maxes at 2gb ram, but the key selling proposition for me is the battery life – 8hours estimated (i get 5-6 hours on a regular basis).
Max RAM is at 2GB.
