Dragonball Evolution is Going to Suck

I never have been a fan of Dragonball but this trailer is horrible… the visual effects are sometimes good but generally… it’s sh*t!

Perhaps you’ve never seen Dragonball Z? Bad acting and no plot is kind of a hallmark of the series…

the story is inaccurate. the dragonballs were not created by 7 mystics. they came from planet namek, where Piccolo came from.

why is piccolo the villain and why does he look so jacked up? They should have had direction from Akira Toriyama on this. Stupid hollywood

……and Earth’s dragonball’s didn’t come from Namek, they came from Kami, who happens to be a Namek, but we don’t discover that bit of information until Dragonball Z. I am guessing Kami may be one of the 7 mystics. This subject will probably be covered in the movies planned sequel. If anyone has followed the original Dragonball series, then you would know that King Piccolog arrived in the series first, without an introduction to his counterpart Kami, much like this movie is doing. Then, in the following season (Piccolo Jr. Saga) the explanation of Kami and the link between him and Piccolo is described. Also, on top of all of this, with in the series, Roshi gives some half baked explanation (relative to the movie’s explanation of the 7 mystics) of the origins of the Dragonballs before Kami was introduced.

So….. the movie really isn’t all that far off after all

Word Bro, thank you for educating everyone! King Piccolo is pretty much the first big villain, and the live movie is an adaptation (so everyone needs to chill the f@$#$# up). Sorry for the harsh words but there are so many die hard fans like me that are having to up with random cock smokes posting bad comments..Does the movie look good? Somewhat! The trailer could be better but either way, come April, I’m still going to be in line for that
movie.

Whatever people say, I’m still going to see that movie. Who cares if Goku isn’t asian or if Bulma’s hair isn’t the right color?

I still think it will be cool.

I’d prefer to watch dragonball in cartoon style rather than live action. I guess its a “cool” to make Live actions of everything, spiderman, batman, hulk, iron man, Ghost Rider, superman, daredevil, punisher, fantastic 4…. Most of them were actually pretty good, but then DBE comes along… I just don’t see it, since when was nimbus a camero?

why would goku be asian? he’s not even human. speaking of goku, right from the start this whole thing is messed up. if this is dragon ball, goku should look like a child. obviously, hollywood doesn’t like the idea of a super”human” child who fights bad guys, so they make goku a 20 year old. if they don’t like the story, they shouldn’t make the movie…

piccolo looks nothing like a namekian. he looks like some goofy alien from a scifi network series. definately not toriyama’s vision.

lets not forget walking, talking animals. i can almost guarantee those were removed. i bet roshi isn’t the “dirty old man” he’s supposed to be. krillin will be nowhere to be found, which is an outrage. how can they even call this dragon ball without krillin being in it? from the looks of it and the casting, i’m guessing that theyre going to make bulma goku’s love interest. this would completely mess up many things, so i really hope they didn’t. all signs seem to point to that, though.

this movie will be yet another example of hollywood taking the liberty of completely bastardizing an original story to make money, even if their version is total crap.

I don’t even know why they think dragon ball would translate well into a live action movie. some things are better left animated, imo.

man, viewing everyone’s comments lets me know how much of a dragonball geek i really am. and i’m good looking and well off too, but that’s besides the point by a long shot.

to clarify, this movie is based off of dragonball, not dragonball z. to people who say ‘how come goku isn’t a kid?’ you’ve obviously never watched the series, as when goku goes off to train with Kami, he comes back years later to participate in the world tournament, as a teenager, and IS a teenager for… shit wait a second I just realized… He IS a kid when he fights Demon King Piccolo (daimao)… that’s right.. he’s a teen when he fights Majunior aka Piccolo from Dragonball z… alright, well fine, you got me there, seeing as how Spike from Buffy is playing the original piccolo, not piccolo jr…

but as far as the story about the mystics banding together to create the dragonballs, they DO say that in the actual story. but in the show, it’s only a legend and no one knows how or why they were on earth. Roshi just heard that’s the way it happened, even though in Z it’s explained they were created by Kami.

and yeah, Goku in school? That’s plain old fucked I don’t know what to tell you.

as far as goku NOT being asian, he’s an alien, and have you SEEN the charaters in dragonball z? NOBODY looks asian, except for Yajirobe.

If your stupid enough to see this movie FFS don’t wait in line see a boot legged copy, if you need links i’ll provide or i’ll even upload it. As I’ll never EVER support them for doing this. If you continue supporting them everything they throw crap at your face, they’ll just keep doing it. If you Really want to pay tribute and show fan dedication Contact Akira Toriyama donate some money to him, ask him to make a live action movie. Not to the greedy hollywood film makers who just regurgitate the same crap at us over and over with new names.

Ive seen this suckkkyyy movie. It does sucks. the Dragon Ball movie before (1989) MADE in asia is better than this one.

they made it look good with Avatar LAB, thats a good director.
