If you like miso I recommened Suzu Noodle House in Japantown. It’s by far the best I’ve had in the city.

If you’re willing to travel a bit outside of SF to San Mateo (about a 20 minute drive), there’s a place called Santa Ramen which has a great tonkatsu ramen. Be prepared for a wait though. The line is out the door every night before the place even opens. Locals swear by it.

Hehe if only I lived in the states. There is also a good place in Düsseldorf (Germany) called Takumi. It was hands down the best one I ever had. I’ve never tried one in Japan though. Anyway, they too put this boiled egg on top of your bowl with firm egg white but a jellow like egg yolk. I think they boiled it at 70 degrees Celsius instead of 100. It was delicious! I’m going back next week to get my ramen fix!
