definitely makes for a powerful video camera – (with all the exposure settings, its a seriously pro video cam).

I’m in the process of buying a DSLR and looked a the D700. I think i’ve finally decided on the Canon 50D and seeing as i have an Xacti HD 1010 i don’t need more video capability.

True, At the $2500 mark, there are no comparable video cameras with such DOF control, yea, the 5DII video a while after the 5DII was released, it actually liked it, and I would have to assume it’d be useful for wedding photographers to record the moments.
-ps they were playing MOBY in that video!

The advantage of video in a dSLR vs. a standard video camera is the wide variety of 35mm interchangeable lenses. The DOF and control is amazing, and something that can’t be achieved with any video camera I’ve seen at the ~$2500k mark.

Have you seen the videos produced by the 5DII?

Okay, I appreciate the idea of putting video functions into SLR, but it really changes my look on a dSLR now. I much rather have a SLR JUST take photos, that way, I dont have to pay for the Video premium. I really dont plan on using the video mode if I had a 5DII.
If anything, they should have like a D700 for still images, then a D700v for like STILL+Video. Just my 1+1 cent.
