15 years ago, Angus Thirlwell and Peter Harris created a brand of exclusive chocolates available only to the U.K. Today, Hotel Chocolat opens it’s doors to the United States to better serve the American chocolate connoisseur. And chocolate connoisseur I am!
Hotel Chocolat offers a wide range of gourmet chocolates using only the finest ingredients, and a passionate commitment to the chocolate-making process to explore the enduring love affair that has been taking place between human beings and cocoa beans for 3,500 years.

The company’s signature chocolate slabs were born when Thirlwell, the company’s co-founder and creative force, recognized the beauty in the natural form pure chocolate takes when it is poured onto a chocolatier’s marble table and allowed to set.
I decided to sample the Caramel Fusion Giant Slab ($25) and Macadamia Turtles ($10), and let me tell you that they are to die for! The Macadamia Turtles are a nice treat when you need a chocolate fix, but the Caramel Fusion Giant Slab is simply pure chocolate bliss.

We believe that chocolate should be exciting, original and made with authentic ingredients. And when it is, chocolate has the power to take us on a sensuous journey that captivates each and every one of our senses. The look of beautifully glossy chocolate, the distinct snap of a solid bar, those stunning aromas and finally, the heavenly textures and flavors…
If you’re ready for a taste of chocolate heaven, your journey begins at Hotel Chocolat

I guess it doesn’t hurt to also use sex to sell chocolate as indicated by the two images above.

I can’t imagine how long I’ll need to be on the treadmill after one of their giant slabs of chocolate! :p

How can something look good and be delicious at the same time? That’s ‘chocolat’ for you.

Doesn’t really help that we just came off Halloween and I’m on a sugar buzz rampage. If I was in the area I’d definitely be looking to get a chocolate fix.
I’m really feeling their site design. I think one of the most potent properties of chocolate is the aphrodisiac/endorphin quality of it, like it’s almost…sinful, and it really comes off in their graphics and their marketing. It just oozes sensuality and sex, like if you don’t get any it’s alright cause you still got chocolate. But at the same time it’s a sophisticated kind of sex - their font size is small and their layout really clean - not the trailer trash slutty version.
Looks like I’ll be getting myself an early Christmas present this year instead of running to Shoppers for a Pot of Gold. That liquid chocolat looks delicious.

Terry, you made a typo:
“And chocolae connoisseur I am!”
Right at the beginningHmmm the best store for chocolate in my knowledge is.. Laura Secord, and the chocolate mint cubes are to die for. I wonder if they’ll open a Hotel Chocolat in Canada, specifically Toronto, cause I really enjoy fine dark chocolate at 70% Cocoa! I want to get the CARAMEL GIANT FUSION SLAB and share it with like a group of friends, that would be perfect since as much as I love chocolate, I just get full from chocolate really fast. I wonder if they sell hot CHOCOLATE in their stores hahah, it’d be the perfect solution to the cold weather, oh how I wish they opened a Hotel Chocolat in local malls.
