I think the geese restaurants in Tuen Mun are more well known, which is where I had it for the first time. Not so fatty from what I remember but still not my Chinese favorite. At the random restaurant we chose, it was amazing, and I didn't get any of the sickening feeling you described, though it was very heavy I must admit. A great meal for about $4 AUD who can complain?
