Kineda sits down with model and aspiring actress and Lianne Lin.

K: Tell us where you call home?
LL: I grew up in a small town near Berkeley, CA, which is about half an hour north of San Francisco, but a few months ago (Feb. ‘05) I moved down to Los Angeles

K: Ahhh, from the town of hippies to the land of stars! Was the move to get closer to your goal of being a model and actress?
LL: I’ve never dreamed of being an actress, but I needed more modeling opportunities, and I also love doing hair, makeup, and fashion/glamour photography, so this is the place to be to pursue all of those fields. Since I came here I realized I’d need to take acting classes if I really wanted more success and recognition, and I have just been accepted into an acting school.

K: Awesome! Congratulations on being accepted. Don’t forget us little people when you’re up on the big screen! Who’s your inspiration?
LL: Halle Berry because she’s talented and beautiful.

K: You also said you’re a glamour photographer. What got you into photography? Sounds like you enjoy being in front of the camera as well as behind one.
LL: I love all aspects of a human portrait. Whether I’m drawing, taking a photo, or looking at art, my favorite subject matter is a person. Taking a photo is so much easier than spending hours on a drawing, so photography has become my favorite art medium.

K: We’re avid photographers ourselves. Mind us asking what equipment you use?
LL: My favorite light is outdoors, so I usually shoot the model outside in the shade, no flash, with my Fuji Finepix S7000. Simple and easy.

K: Anything outrageous happen on a shoot before?
LL: Not really, but one time I was shooting 3 girls who wanted swimming pool shots in their bikinis, and to get the best angle I needed to get in the water. I got into the pool with them, fully clothed, with my camera.

K: Fully clothed? I’m surprised you didn’t strip down to your undies?
LL: Nope, i had a skirt and tank top on!

K: I’m sure the fans would have loved to see a shot of that. What’s the coolest thing a fan has ever done for you?
LL: Well, one fan bought all 4 photos in my shop on my website. Also, it’s nice when I get birthday cards and little gifts from fans.

K: Any man in the picture right now?
LL: Nope. But I have a lot of guy friends, and they’re great. It’s a lot less stressful than having a boyfriend!

K: There’s gotta be someone out there that’ll tickle your fancy. What sets a guy apart so that he doesn’t get tossed in the friend bucket?
LL: Well, if I were to have a boyfriend then he better be THE perfect one for me. We have to connect on an intellectual and spiritual level, and have a LOT of fun together. I prefer Asian guys who have some kind of interest in the arts.

K: He’s out there reading this right now I’m sure. How should this Perfect guy approach a girl like you?
LL: I don’t really like aggressive guys, so he should just be real, show that he wants to get to know me (rather than just get in my pants) and not be too pushy.

K: On an average day, what would he find you wearing?
LL: Probably a tank top and jeans or a short skirt.

K: What would be playing on your Ipod?
LL: Dancehall reggae, reggaeton, hip hop, and R&B.

K: Any last words to your fans?
LL: Thanks! Don’t forget to visit me at LianneLin.com!
