is nothing more than doing well whatever you do without a thought of time.

We know that one day we must die, but usually we picture that day as
far in the future.

Jay-Z releases an album, scores number one, Jay-Z is not surprised, thats his style. JayZ is successful, and thats why he has one of the hottest singers out there as his girl, with his talents, he just needs to put out a couple more albums... hit number one a couple more time, and surpass Elvis, the only problem with surpassing The Beatles is that the genre of music has grown considerably.. There is a lot more types of music for people than there were when The Beatles were around. Plus The Beatles... they were just legends back then, and they're also extremely talented, each and every member.
Good Luck to JayZ, he's going to need it.

Lupe is definitely on the rise, but NAS isn't mainstream enough to ever make it big like Jay-Z. Innovative he is, but only for a subset of the hiphop culture.

He's talented no doubt, but I don't think anyone will ever top the Beatles. There's just too much competition these days.

Okay, okay, fine. I didn't want to comment on this, because I have a fundamental and deeply rooted hatred of all things Jay. It's a long story, but in my opinion, he hasn't come a long way since he debuted. His first drops, esp. his stuff with Original Flavor, was CRAZY good, but I think he kind of fell off after that. Sold out.

Yes yes, you can argue me. I acknowledge that this is a basic flaw in my perception and judgment in that I cannot see any good in Jay-Z anymore. Satisfied?

That being said, because of your article, Terry, I will give American Gangster a try. I will listen to every single track and see if it is at ALL possible comparable to The Beatles in any way, shape, or form. I am prepared to be sorely disappointed (because I have almost no expectation of greatness), but perhaps I can be coerced otherwise. Although now that I think about, how can you even compare Jay to The Beatles? 'Yesterday' was a classic...
