Here’s a funky fresh music video produced by Jonas & François of 75 Music and So Me. Not only did this team of three perform a knockout job on Kayne West’s Good Life music video, they were also team that directed Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.” hit.
And in case you’re wondering who the vixen in the video is, it’s Angel Melaku.

I’m digging this song and video! Love the crazy japanese anime style graphics. :D
i LOVE this song and video! kanye is so creative and talented. sure he’s a bit cocky and outspoken, but i think that’s what attracts people to him. he’s not afraid to speak his mind. his self-esteem, confidence, talent and skill is definitely something i admire. he’s my idol!
This is a cool song, love the vid clip with all the crazy graphics.
Killer vid, but they’re overplaying it on the radio waves. Kinda getting tired of the song now.
I love it. Music videos are best when they’re really dynamic yet functional, and at the same time highlight and compliment the artist instead of the solely the music video producer. Justice’s DANCE video was nasty (the song, however, is probably my least favourite on the cross album) and this Kanye one ranks pretty high up there, even though I don’t feel Kanye’s music, I just LOVE his cocky attitude though.
What’s nuts is my buddy was telling me that every single bit they have in the Justice video have T-shirt counterparts – you can buy every single frame from it on your very own screen-printed tee! Be pretty crazy if they did the same for this vid, there’s some pretty crazy shots – ie. the hands holding the bear records, OR THE PORNO MAG! ahahahaha!
Actually what’s good to see is that Kanye isn’t stopping his monopoly over the industry right now – he learned from not winning awards (Ie. The one where he bashed Justice’s We Are Your Friends) about what he had to do to get up there. He made friends with Thomas & Guy-Man and pushed a new song, then he’s jumping on Justice’s video producer – you gotta respect the man he really knows how to produce quality, marketable, highly-sought after and aesthetically appealing commodity in the form of sensations OTHER than his specialty over the auditory medium. Respect.

I’m really a big fan of his album. Alongside this song, I think ‘Stronger’ and ‘Big Brother’ are my next favorites. I remember a few years back in college when Kanye came down to perform at my school. He brings this energy presence on stage that keeps everyone glued to his performance. Hope he keeps delivering this fresh sound.
I got the graduation cd as birthday present this month, and have listened to this track everyday since (i recommend listening to it with your windows down on a sunny day). I would encourage any hip hop fan to get the cd, its not as good as college dropout, but much better than late registration. All the goodness we’d expect from Mr. West.
Excellent song.
Kanye West. No doubt that he is one of the most influential artists of our time. But one the other hand, how many songs did he actually created himself ? He needs something he can work with, like samples or whatsoever. He doesn’t come up with something totally fresh. It’s the same with the ‘Goodlife’ thing, one of Holland’s labels is called Goodlife. Goodlife’s artists did perform before Kanye’s main concert started.. And there are rumors he stole the idea from the dutchmen…
And to be honest, the lyrics and how Mr. West performs in this particular video; It does look a hell of a lot like when the Dutch Goodlife people perform..
But hey, Mr. West can mix songs like no one else can..
Odd thing is.. I swear I had second post, but it appears to have gone missing.. anyway
First off, his video style is fresh, you don’t see black and white videos of kanye with a colorful animation style to it everyday. The video is really able to catch your eyes. He is one of the artists that i like actually admire listening to, unlike 50cent. I still remember when i first saw the Jesus Walks MV, when I first heard his music. After seeing all the hard work he’s put into his music, he really deserves a good life now!

tjiewkap speaks the truth. I think that’s the reason I don’t like Kanye – with hip hop I really like it to be HONEST, where people are just practicing their gift and showing people what personal talent they have and what original contribution they have towards to the culture. Kanye is an influential powerhouse when it comes to the industry, but take a moment to just browse through his tracks and ask yourself a few questions.
How much does he sample and who does he sample from?
(You’ll find a lot of his bigger hits and ideas have already come from artists who have done it before and gotten huge already – he’s riding off an allostatic load of fame!)
How heavy are his lyrics?
(You can argue me on this one, but I’m pretty sure you’ll find that they’re not as powerful and meaningful as so many other rappers out there. I find he usually talks about fluff when there are so many other heavier issues)
What the hell’s with his flow?
(Don’t even get me started.)
I think Kanye makes a way more amazing producer than he does an artist, but at the same time what portion of his fame is ‘borrowed’ and how much of it is all him?
If we have to ask ourselves that question whenever we listen to something of his (which I do every single time), I think there’s a problem that needs to be addressed.

totally digging this vid. when i first bought the cd, this was actually one of the few songs that stuck out for me. the majority of the cd isnt that good, but this song is one of the few that sound pretty good just jamming to. definitely digging the vid, how its all tripped out and all. sick graphics…props to jonas and francois of 75..i think this is the first time theyve done something this big right?
This song epitomizes what this site is about…living that good life. Welcome. I don’t know about you, but this is anthem of the year for me. Yee yee!
