    I’m assuming that the Klipsch Image S4, and S2 are the mid-range IEMs. I wonder how they match up against the UE’s Metro.Fi line. Right now, I’m using the open ear Sennheiser PX100s for the time being before I’m upgrading to either the HD600s or the 650s. Though the PX100 isn’t noise canceling, they still provide excellent sound for the budget consumer.

    Terry, you did post the UE’s Super-Fi Pro 5s article a few years ago, (2005). My brother did manage to get one – I’ve tried it and I have to say its one of the best IEMs out there (if you’re willing to spend 200+). It’s great when you’re on the subway, it blocks out 90 percent of the sound while you can still ear the announcer. Beyond the price range, you’re looking at UE 10s and UE customs but who’s willing to spend that much. They just got bought out by Logitech recently too. I’m not quite sure about the Shures but I bet they’re just as good too.

    I’ve got the Shure SE110, the cheapest out there (of the Shures, that is). Also got Sennheiser CX300. Both in ears, priced at ~$100 and $50 respectively. Sennheisers got more amplitude in bass, especially compared to the Shures, but I love the foam tips of the Shures. When it comes to noise isolation, they’re a must. It’s amazing how you can feel them expanding inside your ear, while the noise around you slowly but surely fades out. Just make sure you clean your ears beforehand, cause when you pull those things out.. some nasty things can be pulled out as well.
