Traffic In The Sky

Leah Dizon will be starring in her first American produced film, “Traffic In The Sky” by director Charles Yi. The movie was officially completed on October 25th, 2006 and is currently being sent out to various film festivals.

Leah plays a leading role as Liane – a girl who is full of potential and lives in a world of possibilities. Hopefully, they’ll release screening dates soon.

From the website:
“Traffic In The Sky is about vicious cycles: How people bring “baggage” from a previous bad relationship to their new boyfriend/girlfriend. It is a film about the trials of love, the bonds of friendship, and the lessons we learn from each. It’s a story that explores the possibilities of growth, or regression, through experience.”

Some interesting trivia:
“The main three actors Darren Hamlyn, Heather Soon, and Leah Dizon are “hapa”. Darren Hamlyn (Japanese/Caucasian), Heather Soon (Chinese/Caucasian) and Leah Dizon (Filipina/Chinese/Caucasian). One of the supporting actors is also “hapa.” Jason Jung (who plays the ex-boyfriend) is half Korean, half Caucasian.”

The trailer looks pretty good. Looks like Leah is playing a smaller role, but I’d love to see how she does on the big screen.

My old roommate Mark was the photographer and graphic designer for the film. For your enjoyment, here are the photos he took from production:

Nice photos. I like the first one of Darren and Heather with their heads against each other. Any idea what camera he used?

I think Leah is turning into a huge star. She really has a beautiful look to her. I hope her acting is on the same level.

The camera used for the photos was a Canon Digital Rebel. He recently upgraded to the XT, so I now own the camera. But remember, it’s the lens that makes the photo, not the camera.

Good news for any Bay Area folks interested in seeing the movie. Traffic In The Sky has just been accepted into the San Francisco Asian Film Festival in March 2007. Keep an eye out for screening dates.
