Lee Hyun

21 year old Lee Jung Hyun is one of the most notable stars in Korea. Dance, Electronica and Techno are her label sounds, but as for her image it is an ever-changing catharsis of distinctive personas or characters. From a cyber female warrior, to Cleopatra and Barbie, she does it all and does it well. She has become a fashion role model for the young generation in Korea.

Lee Jung Hyun will be performing a live concert in Tokyo this coming August. This will mark her first major performance in Japan. Lee Jung Hyun’s concert will focus on her second Japanese single to be released on August 3rd entitled, “Passion.”

Lee Jung Hyan started as an actress at the age of 16, with her performance in the movie Hua Xie, she was seen as a potential new star. She released her debut single “Wow” which topped the Korean pop charts for three weeks. That was the beginning of her singing career. The song “Change” has secured her status among the most popular singles in Korea. With this song, she was chosen the Best New Performer in both 1998 and 1999, The Best Song, and The Most Broadcasted Song in SBS Seoul.

She became popular not only for her songs but also for her creativity and her acute sense of style. She blends the traditional Korean dance with euro-disco dance and Tai Chi, and develops her own brand. When she performs in her baggy clothes, dances to the music, she bewitches and captivates everyone in the venue.

Another peculiarity of Lee Jung Hyun is that she does not use a regular microphone. She wears a wireless microphone on her finger so as not to disturb her performances. She sings to the microphone worn on her finger with a stylish hand gesture, which compliments her dances. This gesture became her performance trademark.
