MTV is promoting the launch of their new global music and pop culture network MTV Iggy, with a live NYC Times Square performance by Korean popstar BoA. To attend BoA’s first-ever U.S. performance on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, e-mail BoALiveNYC@gmail.com and tell them why you love her.

    It’ll be quite interesting to see how BoA fairs in the the U.S. market especially with her limited English. She’s talented no doubt, but American’s may still view her as a FOB.

    yeah, it seems really difficult for asian stars to transfer over to the states :(.

    Ya, I really don’t think she’ll make it here. Her U.S. fan base isn’t large enough to really take her mainstream.

    but she has something special. she is “exotic” for most americans. i think this is her big advantage.

    The US hasn’t been too kind to Asian singers in the US.

    Do you remember Coco Lee or Utada Hikaru. I thought so.
