The Chinese government is raising the price of waribashi (disposable wooden chopsticks) in an effort to protect their forestlands. Every year, throughout the world, hundreds of billions of disposable chopsticks are thrown away after a single-use. Widely used in Japan, Chinese waribashi is 50-200% cheaper than it’s Japanese counterpart. The price hike is part of China’s larger plan to totally ban the production of waribashi completely.

“just bring ur own chopsticks around!”
OMG good Idea, million dollar idea, I still remember going to some restaurants where the chopsticks reeked of very strong washing detergent, and well, if we can all bring our own chopsticks to use everywhere we go, we can save the restaurant some work and feel better about eating in restaurants -

I do ‘kamayan’ because I’m used to it> I’m Filo dudes. Chopsticks, use the plastic ones. And normally fork will do the job easily.
