PLEN is the coolest toy robot I’ve seen in a long time. Created by Systec Akazawa, PLEN glides around your desktop on a pair of roller skates like a miniature version of Scott Hamilton. What’s even more amazing is PLEN also has a little bit of Tony Hawk in him. He’s able to hop on a skateboard, balance himself for a quick rides, and pops trick ollies to top it all off!
The little sucker features 18 joints that are controlled remotely using custom software on your Bluetooth-enabled phone, and features a built-in battery that lasts a sweet 25 minutes on a single USB charge.
PLEN’s squarely aimed at those with money to burn, because at 250,000 yen (~$2075 US) he’s definitely not cheap by any means.
Check out the “Gallery” section of the PLEN website, to see more videos of this insane toy robot in action, or order one if you have a wallet that’s fat enough.

Amazing the balance this little robot has. I think HONDA might be able to learn a few lessons here!

cute looking, funny, and very skillful; i liked its moves; great balance; funny tricks; Honda did a pretty good job inventing robotics.
