Ricoh-CX1 Offers HDR Photos in a Point-and-Shoot

Ricoh-CX1

HDR (high dynamic range) photography has been a tool of DSLR photographers for years now, but Ricoh is bringing it to the masses with the CX1 ($430).

The CX1′s “dynamic range double shot” mode takes two images nearly simultaneously with different exposures, then combines them automatically to present the best bits of both. The CX1 has a large 3.0-inch 920,000-dot VGA monitor and high-speed continuous shooting functions at approximately 4 frames/second that make it even easier to enjoy HDR photography.

With normal DSLR cameras, you can use the RAW to make HDRs, but when you get photos that are directly HDR, can you go backwards?

AllaN — unfortunately you cant go backwards to RAW :(

FYI – RAW has the most amount of image info possible for a shot
