Scarlett Johansson will soon join the likes of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, by becoming another actress turned singer.
FOXNews reports, “Fear not, though. Unlike some other recent pop tarts, Scarlett — who turns 22 next month — can actually sing; she is no Paris Hilton. Also, her choice of material is a tad more sophisticated. She’s making a whole album of songs by Tom Waits, one of the premier singer-songwriters in the business.”
As long as it has a hot picture of Scarlett on the album cover, it’ll sell.

Because Paris gives big names free press. She always talks about what she’s wearing to paparazzi and reporters without asking for money up front so everyone puts her in the spotlight and gives her free product while they’re at it. She’s actually a lot smarter than she lets on. She’s actually quite brilliant.
Oh, that and she’s a billionaire heiress, that sorta helps too.
well, my stance is to just hope that she does well. that said, i don’t want to have to high expectations or what not. and who knows? maybe she’ll be really really good and become famous like andy lau (he’s famous for singing and acting)
aguilera has the voice, but not the talent as a writter. the passion, but not the creativity. paris has the connections… that’s about it. lol.
but johansson has passion and creativity. i even think her voice has great potential. let’s see if she’s got the talent.

Which I think may have been planned. She’s not stupid. And that’s not why she’s still famous today, it was just her entrance. She has played her cards right almost every time.

Has anyone ever listened to Tom Waits? His earlier work might have been more traditional, but basically everything starting with his 2002 “Blood Money” album is out of this world…literally. I can’t wait to see how Johansson takes up his songwriting and arrangement. He is scary. This is scary.
