Simplehuman Trashcan

I own one of the older Simplehuman trashcans and I can attest that they just rock. For something that holds trash, they aren’t cheap by any means, but they are slick. Their latest invention is a trashcan with a built-in motion sensor. Just slip your foot into the sensor zone, and the can’s lid glides open Star Trek style. $199.00 may be a bit much for a trashcan, but I guarantee you’ll get a ton of oooooo’s and aaaaaah’s!

Peep the vid of their rectangle sensor can or get more details on Simplehuman’s website.

My friend has one of these and they open and close really smooth. I think that’s the coolest part of them.

For a trashcan? No, sorry, I can’t do that. On top of that, from experience that I’ve had from motion sensor appliances (i.e. Sinks & Toilets), I find that they’re not too reliable long-term — and for $200, it better be long-term.

Try having that with a portable trash incinerator. Just place the trash in the garbage can and press incinerate. Well, where’s the smoke gonna go, you ask me? Well, make sure you place the can outside. You don’t need to wait for the garbage collector to gather the trash. Simple as that fellas. Incinerate your trash instantly. Sorry, but the smoke can contribute as a greenhouse gas.

For that much money it better take itself out to the curb, empty itself, replace the plastic bag and then return back to it’s spot.
