PS3 Slim

Releasing in the first week of September is a lean and mean Sony Playstation 3 Slim ($300). The Slim will come with a 120GB drive, and will be 32% smaller and 36% lighter than the standard PlayStation 3, as well as using 34% less power.

Looks like it’ll be small enough to fit in my car’s glove box or perhaps under the seat!

Nice. If I didn’t own one already I’d get this.

I might actually get this over the 360, as long as the console doesn’t scratch my disc, I’m fine with that. 300 bucks for a 120gb drive, gaming console and a blu-ray player in one, it’s a good deal. :)

any known cons? hd compatibility? backwards compatible? high speed, high power functionality? feels a little to soon for them to kno how to make the exact same thing smaller imo

I head that they’ve already been using smaller chipsets and components months ago in the same old shell.
