Sung Yuri

Finkl member Sung Yuri has signed an exclusive contract with GOD’s former company Sidus HQ. On June 7 Sidus announced that Sung Yuri signed a 3 year contract with them which is reportedly worth US $600,000. As an aspiring actress Sung Yuri had plenty of reason to sign with Sidus HQ as they house some of the biggest names in the acting industry including Jun Ji Hyun and Song Hye Gyo.

“The hardest thing was parting with DSP who was like a family to me but I thought it was time to seriously further my career as an actress,” said Sung Yuri about the contract. Since Finkl went into hiatus after ending their 4th album activities in May 2002 Sung Yuri has claimed serious praise as an actor after appearing in the TV dramas “Bad Girls,” 1000 Years” and “Hwan Tae Ja’s First Love.”

According to DSP Entertainment the Finkl digital album will still be released as scheduled sometime in late June and that the group has by no means broken up due to Sung Yuri’s move. After the initial Finkl contract expired Sung Yuri had signed a 3 year contract extension with DSP in May 2002 which in turn expired last month. The contracts with Hyori, Ock Ju Hyun and Lee Jin which were signed separately have not expired. According to DSP Sung Yuri will still participate in the digital album which will consist of 4 songs and a music video. No performances or concerts are planned for it though. DSP Entertainment have said that they expect to work with Sidus HQ in order to continue the group’s activities even expressing hope of releasing Finkl’s 5th album next year. Record companies rarely collaborate like this but it has been done before. Group GOD’s members are still divided between Sidus and JYP Entertainment.
