26-year-old Filipino American Ashley Robles auditions for the 11th season of American Idol.

Think big voices don’t come in small packages? Think again. Ramiele Malubay auditioned in Miami for American Idol Season 7, and her powerful voice made quite an impression on the judges.

The 19-year-old Filipina cutie chose “Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin for her audition. A pretty bold choice, but it was definitely worth it. Ramiele Malubay’s performances placed her within the final fifty competitors.

Now let’s hope Ramiele becomes part of the Top 24 next week!

MTV has a great article on “Does Winning ‘American Idol’ Matter?” Of course it doesn’t matter! Many second and third place winners go on to lead an even better career than those that win first place.

Take a look at the success from Season 5 of American Idol, where Katherine McPhee and Chris Daughtry both lost to Taylor Hicks, but who’s careers have far surpassed his after the competition.

Daughtry released a self-titled debut that has sold more than 2 million copies easily eclipsing the 700,000 sold by Hicks and Hollywood can’t seem to get enough of McPhee.

Last night on American Idol, LaKisha Jones, a 27 year old Bank Clerk from Fort Meade, BELTED OUT “And I’m Telling You” from the film “Dreamgirls” sung on the soundtrack by Oscar nominee Jennifer Hudson. You can see for yourself this girl can sing!!!! She is definitely on my list of favorites.

“I do love you,” said judge Randy Jackson. “You laid it out on that stage. Jennifer Hudson, watch out!”

Paula Abdul says, “This is where you belong, honey, this is where you belong!”

Even Simon Cowell loved her stating “I am very tempted to say to 23 people, Book your plane tickets home.”‘

King.com has launched an online version of American Idol. The game plays very much like Dance Dance Revolution, where you try to synchronize the arrows general rhythm on the screen with the arrows on your keyboard.

The better your timing is, the better your character sings. Your performance will be judged by cartoon versions of Simon, Paula and Randy, where they decide if you have the skills to make it to Hollywood.

I gave it a try this morning, and it gets pretty darn addicting. The small keypad on my laptop isn’t ideal for this game, so I’m going to need to try again on desktop’s full keyboard.

What’s great is that when you get good enough, you can join the online tournaments for real cash. I think the jackpot is over $30k right now. Not too shabby for a bit of finger prowess.
