Dell’s design crew has flexed their muscles and released the Dell Adamo — a super thin (.65-nches thick at it’s thickest point) laptop aimed squarely at Apple’s MacBook Air.

Adamo’s stylish features include a chassis milled from a single piece of aluminum, like the MacBook Air; a scalloped backlit keyboard, an edge-to-edge glass display, and a choice of onyx or pearl colors

The baseline Adamo version includes a low-power 1.2-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 processor and a more expensive model with a 1.4-GHz Core 2 Duo SU9400 chip. Both processors fall short of tehe Air’s 1.6-GHz Core 2 Duo and 1.86-GHz Core 2 Duo configurations.

The Air also has a more powerful graphics with the Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics processor versus Adamo’s Intel GS45 integrated graphics.

The starting price is $1,999, which is more than the Air, which starts at $1,799.

Dell has clearly failed to deliver a competitive or ground breaking product.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 ($399) is available today on Dell’s website as a pre-order. This netbook sits right between the Dell Mini 9 for those that feel it’s 9-inch screen is too small and the Dell Mini 12 for those that find it’s 12-inch screen is too large. So many choices, isn’t it great?

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 ($399) is available today on Dell’s website as a pre-order. This netbook sits right between the Dell Mini 9 for those that feel it’s 9-inch screen is too small and the Dell Mini 12 for those that find it’s 12-inch screen is too large. So many choices, isn’t it great?

The Mini 10 is powered with an Intel Atom Z520 (1.33GHz/533MHz FSB/512K Cache) and comes with a 10.1-inch 16:9 display, HDMI port, 1GB RAM and 160GB HDD.

I digging the edge-to-edge display and keyboard compared to the Dell Mini 9, but it sucks that because of the graphics card used it’s not Mac OS X hackable like the Mini 9 is. Also I’m not liking that it tops out at 1GB of RAM.
