His real name is Marshall Mathers, but you probably know him as Eminem. He is the biggest selling artist of the past decade, earning 11 Grammies, one Oscar, and mountains of criticism for lyrics that are as profane as they are poetic. Whether you are a fan of rap or not, Eminem’s life story is an extraordinary tale of success, against all odds – a story he hasn’t talked much about until now. “60 Minutes” and CNN’s Anderson Cooper met up with him in his home town Detroit, in order to find out how a white kid who never made it past the ninth grade was able to propel himself to the top of a predominantly African American art form.

Eminem’s Unstoppable in 2010 MTV VMA Promo

Eminem, wearing a blood-red jacket, spills out of a decidedly wrecked car onto a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The fallen star imagery is clear? The car explodes seconds later. Good thing Em got out. He pulls himself together, dusts himself off, and drags himself, limping and bruised, to what appears to be another Eminem. This is a hero’s story, and Eminem’s VMA promo is a metaphor for his musical journey and his personal one. He’s on his way back to himself, and the message here is clear: Eminem is unshakable and unstoppable. This is the fall and rise of Eminem.

Eminem – Not Afraid

Eminem has produced a music video for “Not Afraid”, the first release from his “Recovery” album. Shot in downtown Newark, New Jersey, the music video shows Eminem standing on the rooftops above the cityline before walking through the streets and flying through the sky.
