Kokoro, a Sanrio Group company specializing in the design and manufacture of robots, unveiled its new Actroid DER2 Hello Kitty loving robot. It’s not the first time the Japanese have released a robot to do the work of humans. In this case, Actroid DER2 is a greetings and expo show robot that can be rented for 400,000 yen (US$3,500).

Does anyone else think this robot is freakishly scary looking? Someone get her a hairstylist and plastic surgeon. I think I’ll save my $3500 and rent a real flesh and blood model.
