Honda’s U3-X is a compact experimental device that fits comfortably between the rider’s legs, to provide free movement in all directions. U3-X ‘s wheel looks like a regular large wheel, but the wheel is actually made up of several small wheels in a series. It weighs under 22 pounds, uses an electric motor, with a seat and foot rests that fold into the device for ride and carry. No word on availability but Honda is planning to show it off next month at Tokyo Motor Show 2009.

FILA and Honda Racing have joined forces to create a shoe collection that combines FILA’s rich design heritage and Honda Racing’s commitment to fulfill every car enthusiast’s racing dreams.

The collaborative footwear line pays homage to Honda’s outstanding core technology and culture of innovation, as well as its appeal to young car enthusiasts.

Each shoe in this collection has many special features such as: a low profile outsole that allows the wearer to feel the control of the gear and the gas pedals when driving. An internal injected EVA midsole provides maximum comfort without adding weight or thickness. Lightweight upper materials as well as ballistic mesh panels allow breathability while maintaining strength. Available in either low or mid top, and four traffic stopping color ways, the Honda Racing shoe also includes Polyurethane panels for excellent fit and durability at the heel.

“For many years, Honda enthusiasts have campaigned our products in racing series throughout the U.S.,” said Erik Berkman, President of Honda Performance Development. “We are pleased to announce that we will now support those efforts directly, by introducing products and services geared toward helping our customers fulfill their racing dreams.

The Honda Racing Shoe collection by FILA will be available in August 2009 through FILA’s foremost retail partners fila.com and hondaracingline.com.
