The jeans sport a Selvage trim exposed on the back pocket for a clean and sophisticated finish. The Indigo Dyed Khaki finish denim has a relaxed look of a well worn pair of vintage jeans. Original Penguin Opens a Pop-Up Store In New York City

Original Penguin, the vintage inspired menswear line has opened a pop-up retail store in New York City’s SoHo district. The temporary space will carry a full selection of men’s product with clothing ranging from dressier items such as suits, to very casual graphic tees, denim and loungewear. Accessories such as footwear, hats, watches and small leather goods will also be available.

The 3,200 square foot loft- style location features 5 fitting rooms and a lounge with mid-century Danish furniture, which fits in perfectly with the brand’s retro aesthetic. Other touches include authentic 1950’s & 1960’s photos and artwork from the companies archive in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Original Penguin SoHo is located at 103 Greene Street between Prince Street and Spring Street. Hours of operation are 11am- 7pm (Monday – Saturday) and 12pm-6pm (Sunday). The pop up shop will remain open until December 31st.

A profound sense of style has always been innate in Original Penguin’s new Creative Director Ann Doty Payne. She is responsible for the design of all product lines from clothing to accessories, and for Original Penguin’s corporate image, advertising campaigns and store design. She lends her unique aesthetic to the brand by introducing new patterns as well as reinvigorating heritage prints with new colorways and silhouettes.

The new Holiday 2009 collection will be her first collection for Penguin. The inspiration and concept behind the collection is based off of a story about a man on a cross country road trip that ends in Las Vegas where the women are drop dead gorgeous and the stakes are high.
