Japan Fashion Week ended its five-day run today with some fresh and stunning designs for Spring/Summer 2009. The show features some of Japan’s most promising young designers.

Alife NYC presents several new designs as part of their Fall/Winter 2008 collection.

These shoes will be sold at Alife dealers worldwide, and high fashion outlets like Commonwealth, Barney and Bloomingdales.

The Adidas Gazelle was first launched in 1968 as an all-around training shoe. This Gazelle Mustang ($70) version features a leather upper with a brown, clay and blue color combination.

In celebration of Nike’s summer sporting event, Nike has teamed up with Opening Ceremony to offer exclusive products that will only be available through Opening Ceremony New York and Los Angeles boutiques on 8.8.08.

The Air Max 1, Nike’s first sneaker to offer visible Nike Air technology in the sole and originally released in 1987, has become one of its most iconic products. It will be available in very limited quanities in two colors, gold and silver metallic, and will be stocked solely at Opening Ceremony.

Nelly has signed on to become the first spokesmodel for Diddy’s Sean John underwear line. The St. Louis rapper will be featured in advertisements wearing the Sean John underwear.

The St. Lunatic will be featured in various advertisements wearing the Sean John undergarments from a house overlooking Los Angeles, California. The decision to hire the rapper was based on Diddy’s confidence in his image. “To me, Nelly is the quintessential definition of the Sean John man,” he said, continuing “He has the attitude, the swagger and most of all, the physique that our customers can both aspire and relate to.”

However, for the top floor, a sense of playfulness was added with a colonial style resort inspired space.

Started in San Francisco in July 1996, True ventured to fill a void: No stores on Haight Street were selling hip hop gear. In those days, hip hop clothing was Wu Wear, Phat Farm, and a bunch of labels that you probably never heard of and aren’t around anymore.

More than ten years later True is still on Haight Street selling hip hop gear. As the times have changed, so has “hip hop” gear. The lines between hip hop, street, skate, punk are blurring. Currently, the cool guy movement is an example of that blurring.

True has always been a big believer in not stereotyping people and that carries over into how they merchandise their stores.
