The Shield: The Complete Series Collection ($115), the Emm-winning, groundbreaking series that turned the conventional cop drama upside down, is now available in a 28-Disc DVD Gift Set from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The entire 88 episodes of the gritty series will be presented in a collectible 34-page bound anthology book filled with photos, quotes, and a special letter from creator Shawn Ryan, plus two all-new featurettes — a documentary about the Los Angeles Rampart division police scandal that served as the inspiration for the series and a behind-the-scenes set tour of the “The Barn,” the location where the series was shot.

You know Guitar Hero has taken over the world when Kobe Bryant, Tony Hawk, Alex Rodriguez and Michael Phelps star in the same commercial. Activation has hired the bunch to promote the their “World Tour” Guitar Hero series.

A bikini-clad Audrina Patridge gets dunk into a tank filled with water on Wednesday’s Ellen. Ellen must have a blast dunking hot girls while earning money for breast cancer awareness. It’s a win-win situation for everyone!

Why they chose an obscure British comedian to host the VMAs, I’m not sure? Jamie Fox did better as an awards presenter than Russell Brand did the entire night. Maybe his humor got better as the night went on? I’m guessing not. I wouldn’t know for sure since I fell asleep after the boring first hour. Anyone get a change to see Kanye’s performance at the end?

At least one good thing did come out of the VMAs, and that’s always the pretty young things that strut their stuff on MTV’s red carpet.

Yuri and the rest of the Kaba Modern crew competed against Fanny Pak during MTV’s Video Music Awards opening act. Unfortunately, they were robbed once again as Fanny Pak won the final battle. Rigged I tell ya… rigged.

It’s nice though to see Kaba Modern continue to perform at such large venues. I’m sure it won’t be last time we’ll be seeing them. Go Kaba!

After an exhaustive nationwide search, VH1 found 13 determined young men and women with the raw potential to assist and exist with of one of the world’s most demanding CEOs. Each one-hour episode showcases a range of challenges, many based on the real life experiences of Diddy’s previous assistants. In addition to completing these tasks, the applicants must also do their best to impress an intimidating panel: self-made business prodigy and Executive Vice President of Warner Music Group Kevin Liles, Bad Boy marketing executive and former assistant Capricorn and Diddy’s ultimate henchman, Phil Robinson. Throughout the series Diddy will share his business acumen with viewers by setting up a series of challenges that runt the gamut from “The Art of Multitasking” to “No Bitchassness Allowed”. For reals.

Turns out this “Speed Dressing” commercial for JCPenney is a fake, and the clothing retailer isn’t happy about it.

The spot features two horny teens practicing speed dressing in preparation of interrupted make-out sessions in the basement, and won a bronze lion at the Cannes 2008 Film Festival.

Mike Boylson, chief marketing officer for JCPenney, says:

“It’s obviously inappropriate and nothing we would ever condone. We’re very disappointed that our logo and brand position were used in that way.”

Frankly, with all the positive attention the spot has been receiving, I’d be thanking the ad agency for all the free exposure rather than punishing them.

I’m usually not a legs kind of guy, but looks at the nice pair that Emmanuelle Chriqui showed off on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. Damn, this girl is hot.
