Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set five years after the conclusion of Call of Duty 4. Despite the efforts of the Marines and the SAS, the Ultranationalists seize control of Russia and declare Zakhaev a hero and martyr. Meanwhile, Vladimir Makarov, one of Zakhaev’s former lieutenants, begins a reign of terror against Europe by staging numerous terror attacks.

Video production companies Framestore and Warp Films have created an amazing cinematic intro sequence for DJ Hero. It took a team of 25 3D artists over a 15 week period to finish this short 2 minute piece. Check out their awesome work below.

Technos Super Dodge Ball was one of my favorite games arcade games growing up. The main objective was to eliminate all the members from the opponent’s team by hitting them with the ball repeatedly until they were knocked unconscious. I thought the game was long gone, but that’s not the case. Miracle Kids has recreated the game for Xbox 360, Windows XP and Vista. I remember playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the arcade and then again on the SNES which took up valuable hours of my youth. The arcade classic has now been revamped with all new 3-D graphics, but keeping the same classic beat ‘em-up gameplay. Cowabunga!

Originally titled Halo 3: Recon, Halo 3: ODST brings the perspective of new characters to the Human-Covenant struggle, as it explores the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. Trailer looks amazing and is definitely an update to the Halo 3 series that I wouldn’t mind picking up.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for Xbox 360 is releasing tomorrow (PS3 version coming soon), and there’s quite a bit of hype around the release. One of the biggest is the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 MixTape featuring popular hip-hop artists like E40, DJ Qbert, Talib Kweli and many more. Evo 2009 Ryu Combo Video Exhibition

If you missed the Ryu combo video exhibition at Evo 2009, you can now view it online. The video was put together by Majestros from Sonic Hurricane and features some insane Ryu combos that I imagine could only happen during practice mode. Of course, don’t tell that to the Japanese players who seem to be able to pull this stuff off in regular play.

The Best Street Fighter Players Will Battle at EVO 2009

Seth Kellian has a great writeup on what EVO is all about and why it’s so hype. From the scrubbiest of scrubs to household Street Fighter names like John Choi, Alex Valle, Justin Wong and Daigo, they’ll all be there. Forget how great you think you are against your friends, or how many BP or GP points you have online, because it all really won’t matter. EVO 2009 which starts next Friday, July 17th, 2009 is the place to be, if you want to prove you’re the best at Street Fighter IV and other Capcom games.
