The INITIAL D Race Queen Pageant

The INITIAL D Race Queen Pageant Local Finals was held successfully last Saturday at Bishan Junction 8 with 2 gorgeous contestants winning the closely fought contest! The local INITIAL D Race Queen Pageant is one of the many campaigns lined up for the movie INITIAL D, starring Jay Chou, Edison Chen, Anne Suzuki and directed by Andrew Lau and Alan Mak.

The event last Saturday attracted a 1,500 strong crowd at Bishan Junction 8. After a series of performance and Q&As, the winners of the local pageant are Contestant No.1 Tai Pei Ren, age 19 and Contestant No.7 Pang Jia Ying, age 20. Both winners were presented with $1,000 cash prize, a Casio Exilim digital camera and the chance to participate in the Initial D Race Queen Asian Finals held in Beijing.

Pei Ren and Jia Ying will be going to Beijing this Sunday to meet up with Asian Superstar Jay Chou, along with 18 other finalists from the region. the 2 Singaporean finalists will also compete with another 18 from the region for the top three spots: cash prize and a prestigious Media Asia movie contract for each of the final three winners. The 3 eventual winners will be announced in mid June 2005 and will join the cast of INITIAL D for its’ World Gala Premiere in Beijing on 19 June 2005.

Initial D opens in theatres all over Asia on 23 June.
